Ankunft in Den Haag

(Übersetzung folgt hoffentlich… wenn ich mehr Internet-Verbindungszeit habe…)

My Internet connection is limited to 60 minutes a day. The reason is simple: I arrived at the Netherlands. This is a small country in Europe, which has illuminated highways - all night long. Probably because energy is expensive those days, they have to save it elsewhere.  Bad luck it is my internet connection that got limited.

Anyway… The travel by ICE train was as fun as usually. 30 Minutes before the scheduled departure, the train arrived. Another 30 minutes later than planned, we started the journey. The high-speed train got the time back, because it felt more like an airplane between Frankfurt and Cologne, than a roller coaster trip.
Unfortunately, the board service was short on men power. Very short to call it by name, there was no board service at all. At least outside of the train, we passed SPAMALOT. Nice.

My arrival at the Netherlands was short and painless. I dropped out of the first train somewhere at Utrecht and managed to get into the right half of my next train, so I finally ended up in Den Haag.
Hungry and tired, I went to Burger King, because all other food I could see or smell … was like… fat fries with fat burgers and fat waffles.
Burger King… have it your way. Ok… if this means that no one is going to serve you - than Den Haag has the best Burger King of the world. The staff played the game: “Oh a hungry customer, let’s not see him”. Three out of five left the “restaurant”. And it’s really weird to be at BK’s standing in the front line, 5 waiters ahead, and no one is going to take any action.
I stayed mulish and after an epic time frame, someone had mercy and took my order. Ok, his English was very… strange. The question “Eat here?” sounded exactly like “Light beer?“…
Switching to my new tactic, a constant “yes, yes, yes” to every question, I was able to get something which looked edible.

After the fat king size fries, I decided to take a taxi to the hotel. I approached the taxi stand and wanted to enter the second one, because the first car did not make the impression as it could drive. Well, ten seconds later I was redirected to the first one in line and ended up with a friendly taxi driver from Afghanistan, who did not speak German, Dutch or English. At least he could read the street name and copy it into his “navigation device”, which was duck taped to the front window.
I am sorry that I did not take a picture, but I was a little bit afraid to show my iPhone and lose my life.

Somehow, I cannot remember when, we arrived at the hotel. I had to pay 30 €uro. I did not complain and took my luggage as fast as I could and entered the hotel. It is a nice one, directly at the beach. My first impression is very good, but I hate the 60 minutes Internet per day rule. Probably in the middle of the hot po*n stream, I’m going to lose my con
