Being Green is a Packers thing
Since web 2.0, which probably started with sites like Facebook and MySpace, half of the internet is full of social networks of any kind and interest.
The other 50 percent are shared between the porno industry and the blog world, creating over 1.000.000 pages of electronically trash every day.
Of course, it was just a matter of time until large companies like the one I am working for (more than 170.000 staff members) would jump on the bandwagon.
The first “internal social network” was born, called “TheFuture”. Only a few weeks later, there was an other one called “1ne” (One)… and than more and more.
I registered for TheFuture, because it’s good to have 1ne.
Those company networks offer everything like Facebook, Xing, MySpace, StudiVZ, WKW, Lokalisten, Neighbours, TheVillage and Adventure21.
You can join groups, edit your profile, make friends, upload pictures or videos, write a blog or just chat.
Naive like I am, I thought the content would be serious, because it’s a company driven platform… but after I visited the first few profiles of some (unknown) colleagues - I was shocked. They showed pictures of half-naked bodies or their sixpack. “So much regarding serious network” was pretty much the thing I thought, while I started to check out some female colleague profiles.
Anyway - when I got the invitation to the new company network - and the topic was “Being Green is a Packers thing” I was keen as mustard and joined immediately.
After the registration at http://www.greenwishvillage.com/ I found out,… this is a green network.
Example topics: Recycling obsession, Refuse eating sharks, [Best Practice] Improve your driving – Reduce your fuel consumption, How did I reduce my gas bill by 18%, Solar Energy - a good way to go…
I really love to be part of this company. It makes me smile, again and again.
Do you want an invitation to GreenWish Village?
